About Us:
We are a group of individual private practitioners who have pooled recources and expertise so that you as the patient have a choice of serveral physiotherapists ,all conveniently located at our well equipped practice in Widley. Our aims and how we achieve them: Our aim is quite simply to make you feel better as quickly as possible addressing both the symptoms and underlying cause of your problem. If your problem is inapproprate for the treatments available or your response to treatment is not as expected we will get other members of the team and/or external health care team members involved at an early stage. By working together we form a team with such a wide collective experience, that we can offer you the highest standard of care. We work closely with general practitioners and consultants, so that we have access to investigations and any other procedures you may need as part of your care. At The Physiotherapy Centre we aspire to give an unrivalled service from the time you pick up the phone to the time we discharge you. If we fall short of this standard ,constructive criticism and suggestions are always welcome, please click here to contact us. Sometimes patients will query why we might take a course of action which to them seems odd (usually an administrative procedure). This is very often because the N.H.S. or your insurance company insist on certain procedures. So do feel free to ask or comment.
What are our qualifications? All our physiotherapists have undergone a three year hospital/university training and have been accepted into the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy. Once we have our degree we take up numerous postgraduate studies and have all done further study in our chosen fields (See practitioner profiles). We have two physiotherapists who hold the highest qualification in manipulative treatment, members of the M.A.C.P. (Manipulation Association of Chartered Physiotherapists). One physiotherapist has a masters degree in sports physiotherapy and a second is presently studying at that level.
The Centre The centre is purpose built, conveniently situated on the A3 just north of Portsmouth. It was the brainchild of the original partners, Paul and Jackie Foster who founded the practice in 1982. The building we are in today was erected in 1995 and incorporates all that is needed to offer a full physiotherapy service. There is easy parking and access to private consulting rooms; a hydrotherapy pool and a gym, all in comfortable surroundings, creating an ideal environment to set you on the road to recovery Most important, though are the staff. Mr. Yves De Vos is now in partnership with Paul and Jackie Foster and together with our associate physiotherapists we have an outstanding team. Our reception staff will guide you through the procedure of getting your first appointment and will advise you on how to manage your insurers. They will greet you when you visit and assist if you have special needs. |
