Dr Jonathan Williams MManipTher BSc(hons) MCSP HPC PhD

Jon Williams completed his Physiotherapy degree in 2000 at the University of Southampton. He has worked in the NHS and privately, as well as specifically in military rehabilitation and sport.

In 2005 Jon completed the Master of Manipulative Therapy degree program at Curtin University of Technology, Western Australia. His published master’s research was into postural neck pain.

Jon completed his PhD in spinal biomechanics within the department of life science at the University of Roehampton in 2011. This research investigated new motion analysis methods and looked into the mechanisms behind movement alterations seen in low back pain sufferers, which has been published and presented nationally and internationally. His thesis title was 'An initial investigation into the effect of pain relief on spinal kinematics and electromyography in low back pain sufferers.'

He has lectured at undergraduate and postgraduate level for universities and independently, and is currently a visiting lecturer at Cardiff University School of Engineering and previously at the University of Roehampton and the University of Brighton.

Currently he works part-time at the physiotherapy centre with the remainder of his time being taken up by ongoing research.

Clinically he enjoys assessing and treating all musculoskeletal disorders with an emphasis on spinal problems.
