Diagnostic Ultrasound and Guided Injections
This service is provided at the Centre by Advanced Physio Solutions. Advanced Physio Solutions have almost 25 years of experience dealing with musculoskeletal pain. They recognise that maintaining good levels of health and fitness are essential to both physical and mental well-being.
Some of the conditions which may benefit from ultrasound scanning and injection therapy:
- Tennis elbow
- Achilles tendon pain
- Frozen shoulder
- Arthritic joints
- Mortons Neuroma
- Myralgia Paraesthetica
- Carpal tunnel syndrome
At times we all need help with this and if you and your healthcare provider feel that further assessment and ultrasound scans or some kind of specialised treatments (such as injection) are required then we are happy to assist.
Advanced Physio Solutions offer a range of advanced assessment and treatment solutions at The Physiotherapy Centre, including:
Musculoskeletal assessment, diagnostic ultrasound scan and full report. This may also include injections which we perform using ultrasound imaging to ensure accuracy of the injection.
If you’re having pain from arthritic joints, sprains or strains or soft tissue problems like cysts, ganglion, bursitis, tenosynovitis, plantar fascitis and more then we have injection options that might work for you. There are also treatments for several nerve pain problems with injection treatments for mortons neuroma, carpal tunnel syndrome, meralgia paraesthetica, ulnar neuropathy and more.
APS provide a range of more specialised treatments using ultrasound to guide the injections for persistent tendon pain like patella or achilles tendinopathy, tennis or golfers elbow and more including dry needling techniques or high- volume injections. APS would discuss these options with you after examining your tendons using ultrasound.
Around the shoulder highly specialised treatment options include ultrasound guided hydro-dilatation for frozen shoulder and Barbotage for calcific tendinitis or suprascapular nerve blocks for persistent shoulder pain.
There is also a prescription service when appropriate and there is access to private XRAY imaging if referral is required. It will be recommended that you see your GP if any blood tests are advisable.
It is important to be fully informed as to the risks and benefits of any treatment that you might try. We will go through these with you before a shared decision is reached about what the most appropriate treatment is for you. Please read the steroid injection information before you attend. Details can be found on the APS website here.
For more information please discuss these options with your healthcare practitioner or contact APS using the contact form on the APS website here.
