Catherine Wheeler

Physiotherapist and Reformer Pilates Instructor
Catherine is an experienced MSK Physiotherapist and is our aqua physiotherapy specialist.
Cat is a musculoskeletal physiotherapist who joined the team at The Physiotherapy Centre in November 2023. After graduating from the University of the West of England, Bristol in 2017 she worked for 6 years in the NHS. During her time in the NHS she worked in a variety of different departments including trauma and orthopaedics, hydrotherapy, falls clinics and inpatient rehabilitation before specialising in musculoskeletal physiotherapy. Cat is registered with the HCPC (PH113103) and CSP (102124). She has experience assessing and treating a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions and has a passion for patient centered rehabilitation. She strongly believes in individualised care for each patient and provides treatment plans centered around each individuals’ personal goals no matter how big or small. She likes to involve patients in the shared decision-making process regarding their treatment plan to ensure it works with their lifestyle, work, hobbies and goals.
Outside of work Cat is a keen horse rider and has competed in a range of disciplines including dressage showjumping and eventing. She is a proud horse mum to her (very spoilt) 6-year-old Irish sports horse called May. After undergoing major spinal surgery May is now working through a rehabilitation plan, so for Cat the rehab continues even outside of work! When not in the saddle or mucking out Cat enjoys weight training in the gym and is currently working towards her goal of achieving a 100kg deadlift. After breaking her foot a few years ago Cat understands the frustrations which come with recovering from an injury, she also understands the challenges which come with returning to previous function, work and hobbies. Cat finds the process of helping her patients to overcome these obstacles and return to the activities which mean most to them extremely rewarding.
