1:1 Reformer Pilates

Precision Movement. Personalised Results.

While mat-based Pilates is excellent, the Pilates Reformer takes your rehabilitation and conditioning to the next level. Using a system of springs, pulleys, and a sliding carriage, the Reformer provides adjustable resistance that can either support your body through a difficult movement or add challenge to build deep functional strength.

At The Physiotherapy Centre, we offer Reformer Pilates exclusively as 1:1 private sessions. This ensures you have the undivided attention of a qualified therapist who understands your clinical history and can adapt every movement to your specific needs.

Why Choose the Reformer?

The Reformer is a versatile tool that bridges the gap between physiotherapy and high-level fitness. It is particularly effective because:

Variable Resistance

We can adjust the spring tension to assist you if you are recovering from an injury, or increase the load to build muscle tone and power.

The frame of the Reformer provides immediate feedback, helping you stay in the correct alignment and ensuring you are using the right muscles for the job.

The moving carriage challenges your balance and forces your “inner corset” to work harder than it would on a stable floor.

It allows you to perform weight-bearing exercises—like squats or lunges—in a horizontal position, which is ideal if you have sensitive joints or are post-surgery.

Is it Right for You?

Our 1:1 sessions are highly recommended for:

What to Expect

Your journey begins with a private assessment where we discuss your goals and any clinical concerns.

Practicalities for your visit:

Honesty in Training

We believe in realistic expectations. The Reformer is an incredible machine, but it requires concentration and consistency.

Clinical Note:

Because the Reformer provides external feedback, you may find that muscles you “thought” were strong are actually being bypassed by other parts of your body.

The first few sessions are often about “unlearning” bad habits. It typically takes four to six consistent sessions to master the machine’s nuances and start feeling the deep, structural changes in your posture and strength. Our goal is to move you from rehabilitation to a level of physical resilience you didn’t think possible.
