Gemma Brown

She graduated with a 1st Class Honours Degree in Physiotherapy in 2005 and worked within the NHS for 10 years. She has worked within the private sector since the beginning of 2014. Gemma’s passion has always been within the specialism of neurology gaining a broad range of experience in inpatient, outpatient and community settings. Gemma is Bobath trained and a member of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists In Neurology (ACPIN). She treats a wide range of patients with neurological conditions and believes in a thorough assessment and understanding of her patients’ needs to ensure the best outcome. Gemma has a particular interest in Vestibular issues (dizziness) and the associated balance impairments involved. In 2011 Gemma became the Team Leader of the Community Stroke Team in Southampton striving to deliver quality care. The Team won an award for Outstanding Contribution to Patient Care in 2012 emphasising the importance and need for care in the community. Gemma is also a guest lecturer for the Physiotherapy Course at the University of Southampton.

She is an Accredited PD Warrior instructor and can also measure, assess for and prescribe Lycra garments.

Gemma works closely with her patients to reintegrate them into the local society and has close links with local gyms and groups.
